Kristin Farnsworth of Whispers Photography

Simply Canvas is proud to announce the October Studio of the Month winner, Kristin Farnsworth of Whispers Photography.

Kristin has not always worked in photography.  Her interest sparked about five years ago when her daughter had professional pictures taken, and Kristin thought to herself “Hmmm…I could do this!”  The photographer must have thought so as well, because she took Kristin under her wing and encouraged her to pursue a career in photography.  Kristin and her husband took every bit of their savings and invested in a camera and equipment.  Before she knew it, Whispers Photography was in business.
          
Kristin has a boutique studio that specializes in families, babies, children and high school seniors.  She said her first love is newborn photography. Her biggest thrill is photographing families with their newborns at one of the most special moments in their life. 
         
Kristin’s studio is small, which allows her to have complete control over the creative aspect of her business.  She said she needs to see her images through, creatively, from the beginning to the end.
           
When Kristin was introduced to Simply Canvas at a trade show, she began marketing canvas prints to her clients.   Kristin used another lab for paper prints but did not push canvas because she did not like the quality of canvas the lab offered. Simply Canvas had the quality she wanted, and her clients expected. 
           
Kristin said she never worries when she sends an image to Simply Canvas, because the colors have been on the spot every time.  She was very impressed when she received a call from the director of printing because she had a misspelling in one of her images that had a word wrap.  She said the best part was Simply Canvas fixed the typo before the image printed, and her client never saw the mistake.
           
When it comes to marketing the canvases, Kristin uses the old saying- you sell what you show.  She changed all the displays in her studio to canvas and people have been blown away with the product.  She said once you differentiate a canvas as a piece of art, it is easier to get people to envision their own canvas on their walls.
           
The families Kristin photographs love her canvas prints, and most end up purchasing one.    Each canvas she sells is truly unique because she adds phrases and words to the sides of the canvas that are special to the person in the image.  This allows Kristin to personalize each canvas, and make each a distinctive work of art.
           
The team at Simply Canvas looks forward to each and every one of Kristin’s orders because she puts her heart into every image.  Kristin is the perfect example of showing a product to sell it, and she sells quit a bit!  Congratulations Kristin on being the October Studio of the Month!
