Kelly Hackney
Fine Art Imaging

Kelly Hackney can’t complain that he doesn’t keep busy.  He has dabbled in many areas of the entertainment industry for almost 20 years now.  His resume would have many on the west coast envious.  But during all that time, he never lost sight of his desire to be a photographer.  And when the time came to add that to the resume, he did so with much enthusiasm and one little word “Captured”.

Kelly began his photography career when he launched his business about a year and a half ago, doing primarily portraits and doing it “on the side”.  As he began to pursue photography in earnest, he began also to realize his desire to be more creative.  So, when a good friend of his had plans to open a new wine bar, Kelly sold him on an idea.  He would capture images of wine and cheese, extremely close up and some what “out of focus”.  The result was an order of numerous large canvases, the biggest measuring an exciting 30”x96”!  As a result, he has renamed his business “Fine Art Imaging” and is taking a new direction.

Having never dealt in canvas before, and only recently placing his first order, Kelly was immediately impressed with the quality and artistic look the canvas gave his photos.  Like some of you, he struggles between the use of film and digital.  But he hopes to open up a brand new market with his wine & cheese project.

With all his previous work being available strictly on-line, he intends to use the wine bar as a “gallery”, creating excitement and buzz about his photography and his canvases.  As we all know, you have to see a canvas print to really appreciate just how incredible it looks.  He is currently working on a portfolio which will showcase his credentials and expertise and will make it available at the new wine bar for prospective clients.

His initial canvas has just been unveiled at another restaurant owned by his long-time friend.  The new wine bar opens in early November.  He has definitely captured the essence of an upscale, comfortable wine bar setting with this most recent work.  We wish Kelly much success.  He has found a wonderful niche in the world of fine art photography, and we wish him well.  Here’s to lots of great compliments and many new clients!

Cheers!
