Nature's Blast of Color - Ed & Joan Bonge

Simply Canvas is proud to announce the June 2008 Studio of the Month Award Winner:  Natures Blast of Color, located in Simi Valley, CA.

Natures Blast of Color was launched in December of 2007 by Ed and Joan Bonge. It was Ed's talent and passion for photography that got the new project off the ground. “When I entered college I took some photography classes and earned notoriety on my first project. I have had a camera with me ever since,” he said. According to his wife Joan, Ed has had his camera with him on every adventure. “On our honeymoon he brought his camera and took pictures of all the tropical areas we came upon,” she said.

The photos that were developed from their honeymoon became the basis for Natures Blast of Colors' first collection: Tropical Views. The photos reflected the tropical color and scenes of the Cook Islands. What Ed and Joan enjoyed the most about the end result was how vibrant and bright the images were. This prompted them to further indulge in the photography market.

Since then Natures Blast of Color has featured images from Costa Rica and the Carribean. They soon will be introducing a collection of roses from North America. Ed and Joan are also looking to feature photos from the Sierra's and the addition of tulips. Ed would like to continue to open up into undiscovered areas with the possibility of venturing into written words of travels and site and people oriented images.

What makes the images so intriguing is the idea behind them. Ed and Joan want their collections to influence how people feel and what they think. “Bring the colors of nature inside and let the vibrant colors take effect,” said Joan. They encourage their clients to mix and match their own color walls with the images to bring about motivation, energy, and inspiration.

When developing the idea of color walls featuring their prints, Ed and Joan began looking into canvas. They were invited to a show in Pasadena where by chance they came across Simply Canvas. “I saw their display booth and fell in love with their gallery wraps! Everything just started to come together,” Joan said.

Natures Blast of Color became a client of Simply Canvas in February 2008. According to Ed and Joan, their customers love the canvas prints. They also enjoy the new floating frames. “The first floating frame I bought sold right off my wall,” explained Joan. Ed and Joan are extremely excited about how much Natures Blast of Color has grown since April. They have earned 1st and 2nd place finishes as a result of their images on Simply Canvas gallery wrapped canvas at local art shows.

The staff at Simply Canvas always looks forward to the orders of Natures Blast of Color. They enjoy the bright and vibrant colors the images display.
